Careers in environmental management can cut cross many different sectors. Although some people are employed by the state and work as park rangers, others work for NGOs such as Greenpeace or in the private sector as environmental and energy consultants. Park Rangers

Park rangers work primarily for the National Park Service. They are responsible for the protection of historic and environmental sites, including animal nesting areas and eroding coastlines. The park ranger often educates hikers and visitors on the dangers of the area and relays the conservation regulations that are in place. It is the duty of the park ranger to uphold the law in particular areas.

Energy Consultant

Energy consultants provide organizations with energy advice and evaluations and come up with energy saving schemes that increase productivity and take the environment into consideration. Energy agencies, utilities and consultancies often hire energy consultants.
