Industry Project

This is a practical requirement for several certificate and diploma qualifications.

Research Project I

Learn to plan and conduct research into the current status of an aspect of an industry relating to their area of study, and to complete a descriptive report based on that research.

Learn to monitor, analyse and evaluate a common process (or processes) relevant to their stream studies.(For the purpose of this unit, a "process" is defined as any distinct series of events or changes over a period of time, and which is directly related to the area of study).

Take your research skills to the next level. Develop innovative approaches to workplace activities through systematic research in an industry relating to their stream studies. Apply and build on skills and competencies gained throughout previously studied modules developing initiative and innovation. Prerequisites: Research Projects I & II or equivalent

Research Project IV (Thesis Preparation)

Develop skills in undertaking research and preparing your own thesis.Pre-requisite: Research Project III

Workshop II

Using problem-based learning (PBL) strategies you will complete three projects that address the following topics, relevant to your workplaces in your industry: Identifying and analysing scientific or technical problems Using and maintaining scientific or technical equipment Collecting and storing samples, data or other evidence Undertaking and evaluating scientific or technical procedures Describing workplace operations and equipment in scientific laboratories or technical facilities

Workshop III

This course provides the same outcomes as would normally be achieved by attending face to face or residential workshops. By utilising a PBL approach to learning which has been tried and proven over many years, we have been able to refine this module to create a very effective program that can relate to any discipline in a specific and very practical way. In short, it works and it can be undertaken from anywhere in the world, with the student working in one to one liaison with an academic member of our staff.
